WILL THE 9 TO 5 EVER RETURN?
New research shows that Scottish workers are divided on the future of the 9-5.
According to a survey conducted by recruiting experts Hays, workers across Scotland are unsure if the traditional working pattern will return.
The survey received 4,200 responses including 246 professionals in Scotland.
One year on from when UK first went into lockdown as many are still working from home 36% of professionals don’t believe the 9-5 will return.
This Compares to 41% that believe it will return and 23% who remain unsure.
The main challenge according to 37% has been the lack of interaction with colleagues.
Managing director of Hays John Moore (pictured) said “The notion of more flexible working has been around for some time, but the Covid pandemic has accelerated the discussion.
“One year on from when we were told to work from home, it’s undeniable that the challenges that workers and employers have had to negotiate have changed the world of work forever.
“The jury is still out on whether we will see a return of the ‘9-5.”
