LANDSCAPING SPECIALIST PLANS FOR GROWTH START TO BLOSSOM
The Nurture Landscapes Group, which has its Scotland base in Kilmarnock, has seen significant growth already in 2022. Towards the end of 2021, the Group acquired Glasgow-based JBB Groundcare, to expand its services further across Scotland.
Since this acquisition the group has added more than 100 new client sites across Scotland, primarily within the corporate B2B sector, and its winter gritting services stretch across the entire region.
Nurture Landscapes Group made their first acquisition in Scotland in October 2014 when the acquired JMK Groundcare. The recent acquisition of JBB Groundcare has taken their growth further, adding new sites and facilitating growth into an increasing number of corporate settings.
Winter gritting has seen a sizeable increase and is an area that they are continuing to invest in, keeping businesses operating during challenging weather. This has come in the form of new salt depots and gritting vehicles, with their clients spanning the entire breadth of Scotland.
A key figure in overseeing this growth has been Annette Stubs (pictured above) Head of Operations in Scotland.
On her career so far she said: “My career began in 2009 with a company called JMK Groundcare, where I worked on a part-time basis – three days a week from 9am till 3pm, which suited me perfectly as my children were young and I was able to work around the school day – processing sales, purchase ledger and payroll.
A lot of the success we have had as a business is down to the shared values of sustainability, enhancing talent, and adapting to evolving customer needs, which transcends from the directors all the way through to our operatives on the ground. Our executive chairman, Peter Fane, for example, had and still has the most amazing vision for the future of Nurture. He is driven and motivated and that gives us all the inspiration and determination we need to drive the business forward.
In the time that I’ve been working at the Nurture Group, our ambitions for Scotland have seen us branch into previously untapped markets and geographical locations, taking our operations into areas we hadn’t thought possible before, such is the drive and commitment to developing our staff.”
On the future of the company she said: “Moving forwards, my hope for Nurture is that we can continue to deliver our services in a safe, compliant, and professional manner, which I have complete belief that we will achieve with the continuing dedication of our team. The ethos upon which the company was founded in 2008 are still very much at its core, and with the ever increasing awareness on sustainability, we as a group have made great efforts to fulfil (and go beyond) our environmental duties, resulting in us achieving carbon neutral status in accordance with the global PAS 2060 standard.
I have always carried the belief that nothing is impossible – I left school at 16 with few qualifications, but through sheer hard work, commitment and willingness to learn, I have progressed over the years to the level I am at today and that makes me very proud of myself and my achievements.”
She added: “Nurture is more than just a company name – it is what we as a group work towards, whether that is helping our teams progress their careers, enabling the environment to thrive, or building lasting partnerships with our clients. And this is something that will continue to grow in the years ahead.”
