NavLive launches AI Portal for real-time building scans and modelling for the architecture industry

NavLive, an AI-driven 3D scanning company, has launched a new Portal to give architecture and construction teams instant access to AI-enhanced building, modelling and measurement scans from its NavLive scanner.

The Portal takes real time output from the NavLive scanner, acting as a digital hub to view, measure and export all scan data. It enables architects, surveyors and construction professionals to manage all project scans in its cloud-based library, auto-generate drawings from scan data with AI overlays, visual walkthroughs with image capture, and explore scans as 3D point clouds.
Once a building is scanned, floor plans and elevations are generated directly, providing an instant view of layouts, floor levels, void spaces and wall structure. From these, the portal can produce AI-generated drawings and overlays to create AI plans and view automatically interpreted walls, floors, ceilings, doors and windows.

For construction, architecture and engineering use cases, the NavLive Portal also features built-in measurement tools to quickly draw areas to get square metre measurements as well as a Point Cloud viewer to view spaces in 3D, based on millions of points using real-time rendering.

Chris Davison, CEO of NavLive, said: “Generating building scans and plans has long been a slow, costly process that often produces error-prone surveys, making the lives of architecture, construction and engineering professionals more difficult. Through our AI portal, that pain is gone, instantly producing real-time AI drawings, measurements and 2D and 3D modelling straight from the scanner.“

We’re building the underlying record of truth for spatial data across the entire lifecycle of a building, streamlining planning, measurement and project management. With our scanner and AI Portal, AEC professionals can focus on what they’re best at and what they enjoy.”

NavLive recently launched with £4 million in funding, led by deep tech investor OSE, with participation from SOSV, Oxford Capital Partners, Clearance Venture Partners, AE Works, Britbots, Oxford Innovation Finance, as well as a c. £700K grant from Innovate UK awarded last year.

The company’s handheld LiDAR scanner, combined with edge AI processing, allows users to scan buildings and generate precise site drawings in real time to produce 2D/3D models, RICS-grade 1:100 surveys, and direct Scan-to-BIM integration.
