ASDA LAUNCHES AWARD WINNING LOW CALORIE MIXER BRAND ACROSS THE UK

Co Founders of Lixir Jordan Palmer (L) and Matt Mahatme (R)

A bartending turned entrepreneur duo that launched their low-calorie and lower-quinine mixers have expressed their delight at their products being sold in Asda.

Hitting the shelves of Asda today are the tonic waters from Lixir, a B-Corp-certified brand that started as a solution for the more health-conscious drinker.

Asda supermarkets will stock the following calorie-light flavour range: pink grapefruit, rhubarb & ginger, elderflower & lemon. Available both online and in-store from today, shoppers across the UK can access the healthy mixer drinks in the store.

Lixir Co-Founder Matt Mahatme said: “We are delighted to bring our products to Asda as part of our mission to revamp the mixer space. We want to give consumers a more contemporary, healthier, and more conscious brand to choose from.

We pride ourselves on being certified carbon neutral and providing 100% recyclable packaging to our consumers, and we are encouraging other manufacturers to do the same.”

He added: “By launching in Asda, we have an opportunity to catapult our brand further after an incredible 12 months. We have been working hard on our on-premise distribution since we launched, having signed a distribution deal with Molson Coors Beverage Co.

We are now available in over 400 bars and restaurants across the UK, making this the perfect time to catapult our business into one of the major four retailers”

After being set up in 2018, the brand initially sold in the department store chain, Fenwick, before securing £1.1 million in funding and launching into 10 markets.

The brand has obtained funding from investors and backers including founder of Pure Gym, Peter Roberts, and former commercial director of Pernod Ricard, Chris Ellis.

Mr Mahatme added: “We are thrilled to open up our products to Asda customers, giving people more access to healthy drinking choices. You can now find our products in Asda stores across the country.”
