Scottish companies showcase offshore wind technology to global buyers at trade event

Representatives from 22 companies across Scotland’s offshore wind supply chain presented their innovative products to a panel of international buyers at a showcase event organised by Scottish Enterprise that took place in Edinburgh last week.
The two-day event called ‘22 Innovations’ aimed to increase interest from international developers, OEMs, and tier 1 suppliers in Scotland’s floating offshore wind sector.
The showcase was part of a wider offshore wind innovation programme that has seen over £1million funding provided for feasibility projects through Scottish Enterprise to help the firms address challenges facing the offshore wind sector.
Scottish Enterprise Director for Energy Transition Suzanne Sosna said: “We’re connecting Scotland’s energy innovation pipeline to offshore wind markets in Scotland, the UK and overseas to help companies scale, drive economic growth and create jobs.
The innovation programme has supported over twenty companies to test the feasibility of their technology and support them to scale and internationalise.
Scottish Enterprise aims to accelerate commercialisation, strengthen supply chains and reinforce Scotland’s reputation as a global hub for offshore wind technology though this innovation programme.”
The Offshore Wind Market Overview report has highlighted the global offshore wind market reached nearly $60billion in 2025 and is expected to grow to $120billion in 2030 and initiatives such as the 22 innovations event have been designed to help Scottish companies tap into this valuable market.
The programme targeted buyers from key European markets including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Poland, Spain and Ireland, where multi-gigawatt offshore wind projects are moving from planning into delivery.
The event brought together start-ups working in areas identified as critical to the future of the offshore wind supply chain such as across floating wind, mooring and anchoring systems, subsea infrastructure, robotics, digitalisation, inspection and low-carbon installation techniques.
Fiona Lindsay (pictured above) CEO at Reblade Ltd said: “Innovation runs through everything we do and the event was the opportunity to collaborate with others we might not necessarily speak to within an international space. It really helped us get connections and opportunities to do more with our innovation too.”
International delegates also undertook site visits to key elements of Scotland’s innovation ecosystem, including FloWave and The National Robotarium, highlighting the facilities available to support technology development.
