The Edinburgh Boiler Company (EBC) has celebrated its 10th birthday by giving away more than £20,000 worth of gifts to customers.

Founded in 2015 by Mark Glasgow, the company marked the milestone last month by running a range of competitions over ten business days.

Included in the giveaway were a 12-panel solar panel kit, a custom-made Ideal boiler (and free installation) and free servicing for 10 years.

EBC managing director Dougie Bell said: “We felt it was right to give something back to the community to mark our 10th anniversary. We gave away a whole range of things and the response was overwhelming. 

Without our customer base putting their trust in us, particularly with renewables becoming such an important way of life, we wouldn’t be where we are today. 

The support we have is never taken for granted – we care about our customers and community. Yes, we are a business but it’s never been all about how much money we’re putting in our pockets.”

Mark Glasgow, EBC chairman, added: “The company has come a long way since I started out in a shed in my back garden! The birthday giveaway will be a real highlight of the year for us. 

It was important to show our appreciation for the support we have received over the past decade and it went down really well. Now it’s all about the future, embracing new technologies and where can take the company in the next 10 years.”
