New appointment to lead Chamber’s international divisions

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has made a key appointment to boost its international offering to members.

Sian Timmins (pictured above) joins the GBCC as international partnerships manager, with overall responsibility for managing the Greater Birmingham Global and Transatlantic Chambers of Commerce.

Sian has a wealth of experience working with local and international stakeholders, including a spell at the West Midlands Growth Company where she worked with high-profile partners across the city and joined a Birmingham delegation to property expo MIPIM in Cannes.

She then spent nearly a decade with the NEC Group, working on live events and corporate conferences before taking the role of account manager for International Associations.

This involved collaborating with a range of partners and ambassadors to attract high-level international congresses to Birmingham in order to boost the city-region’s profile and visitor economy.

Sian also spent time working for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games as client services manager for transport, liaising with Games family and the competing Commonwealth nations.

Her most recent role was with the NHS in Worcestershire, working for the clinical directors within primary care networks and governance committees.

Sian said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Chambers, bringing with me many years of working in organisations across the city such as the West Midlands Growth Company and the NEC Group.

I am thrilled to be back in the city and bringing my love of working with stakeholders and everything international to the fantastic team at the Chambers, so that the international divisions can go from strength to strength.

Nothing fills me with greater pride than working with an ambassador for the benefit of the city and the region.”
