By Business CNCT

Liverpool-based sportswear brand Montirex has reported a significant increase in revenue and profits, with annual sales rising 79% to £129.3m as demand for its products continues to grow across Europe and international markets.

Founded in 2019 by friends Daniel Yuen and Kieran Riddell-Austin, Montirex has developed into a growing name in the sportswear industry. The Speke-based business expanded its retail presence in 2023 by securing permanent concessions in high street retailers JD Sports and Footasylum.

Its latest financial results, covering the 12 months to 31 December 2025, show pre-tax profits increased by 76% to £34.5m alongside the strong revenue growth.

The performance was driven by demand across direct consumer and wholesale channels, rising sales in European markets and the continued development of the brand’s product range.

Expanding running, training and performance ranges

During the year, Montirex strengthened its position in the running and training markets by expanding its MTX Run collection.

The company also invested in developing more technical sportswear, working with performance fabric specialists, including Polartec, to enhance its product offering.

Its expansion has continued into new categories following the end of the financial year. With the Open Golf Championship returning to Royal Birkdale in July, Montirex launched its first golf collection, marking a further step in diversifying its range.

The move reflects the brand’s ambition to reach new customers while building on its established presence in sportswear and lifestyle clothing.

Founders celebrate growing international demand

Co-founder Kieran Riddell-Austin said the business had initially been established with the aim of creating high-performance sportswear that combined style with affordability.

“When we started Montirex, our ambition was simply to create high-performance sportswear that looks great and remains accessible,” he said.

He described the company’s growth to more than £129m in annual revenue as a significant achievement, crediting customer loyalty and the dedication of its expanding workforce.

Riddell-Austin also highlighted the brand’s success in attracting new audiences through its broader product offering across running, training and lifestyle categories, alongside increasing demand from customers throughout Europe.

Workforce expands alongside business growth

Montirex continued investing in its operations throughout 2025, increasing its employee headcount from 66 to 111.

The additional recruitment supported the expansion of teams across marketing, product development and technology as the company strengthened its capabilities to accommodate rising demand.

With revenue and profits recording substantial year-on-year increases, Montirex is continuing to build its international presence while diversifying its product range and investing in the people and infrastructure needed to support its next stage of growth.
