The prestigious annual, free-to-enter Inspire Awards 2025, now in its third year, officially opens for nominations this month (May 2025), celebrating extraordinary individuals who are making a difference in their communities and beyond.
The awards ceremony will take place on 3rd of September 2025 at the Scottish Parliament, which Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP, Scottish Labour’s Education Spokesperson; will attend as Chief Guest of Honour and Sponsor.
Previous sponsors and Guests of Honour include Anas Sarwar MSP, Leader of the Scottish Labour Party, who, together with a judging panel comprising business leaders and academics, twice presided over the adjudication process that awarded highly-deserving winners, including –
- Vidhi Chanyal, a St Luke’s High School pupil from Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, won the Young Author category in 2023, and was presented with her accolade by Professor Eleanor Shaw OBE and India’s Consul General to Scotland, Mr Bijay Selvaraj.
- Advik Mittal, representing St. Patrick’s Primary School from Glasgow, was presented with the Powerhouse Performer award as an All-rounder in the BYITC Inspire Awards 2023 by Elaine McLardy and Anas Sarwar MSP.
- Vishruth Sai Keshettivar, a 9-year-old from Basingstoke, England, was awarded the title of Wonder Kid in 2023. A student at Oakridge Junior School, Vishruth secured 3rd place in the International Maths Olympiad after solving 50 questions in just 6 minutes. On top of this, Vishruth is a strong swimmer and after advancing three levels in one term he earned himself the Overall Achiever award.
- Anusha Marcharaddi, from Newton Mearns, won Super Orator in the Cultural & Social Categories category in the BYITC Inspire Awards 2024, held at the British Parliament in London. She was congratulated by Lord Wajid Khan along with Rohini Sharma Joshi OBE.
- Aanya Tadikamalla, a 13-year-old musical prodigy, won the title of Instrument Maestro in the Cultural and Social category in 2024. She is a student at Watford Grammar for Girls, London and has performed at prestigious venues across the city like the Nehru Centre, Harrow Arts Centre, The Bhavan, the Mastercard Annual cultural event and many more.
Organised by BYITC, the British Youth International College the Inspire Awards spotlight the achievements of young people under 18 across 14 diverse categories, including Academics, Sports, Culture and Social Action, Art & Creativity, and All-Round Excellence.
Standout honours also include the Shakuntala Mantri Award, so named as an homage of BYITC founder Dr Rashmi Mantri’s late mother, for Outstanding Achievement in any field.
In alignment with the Government’s push to promote Apprenticeship Programmes, BYITC has introduced the Trailblazer Apprentice Award, recognition of outstanding growth and achievement by young apprentices on their training journey.
This year marks a significant expansion of the Inspire Awards with the launch of the new “Business Excellence Awards”, a dedicated category for entrepreneurial individuals aged 18 and over. The new segment aims to celebrate their innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial impact.
The five subcategories under the Business Excellence Awards are:
- Innovation Hero Award
- Brilliant Brandmaker’s Award
- Game-Changer Enterprise Award
- Dynamic Leader of the Year
- Remarkable Influence Award

Nominations are now open and will close on 30th June 2025.
