Glasgow based, online healthcare provider Simple Online Pharmacy was recently named in the prestigious 2024 Deloitte Fast 500 ranking of Europe, Middle East and Africa’s fastest growing companies. The company was the only digital pharmacy and online doctor and one of 81 UK businesses that made the list.

The ranking confirms the company’s position at the forefront of the emerging digital healthcare market with a 361.7% absolute growth rate (CAGR 66.5%) and places it as 467th fastest growing business in Europe.

Simple Online Pharmacy has not received any external funding or incurred any debt since its launch in 2015. Founded by local pharmacists Addy Mohammed and Karim Nassar, the company was created to address the market need for a patient-first, online healthcare service that delivers medication directly to consumers quickly and conveniently. 

The pharmacy offers a digital doctor service, an online pharmacy shop, a weight management program, and free delivery of medication pouches for NHS patients. 

These pouches, known as compliance aids, help with medication adherence and reduce dosing errors. Pharmacy is one of the last industry sectors to make the transition to online, with the pandemic significantly accelerating the switch.

As a leader in digital healthcare, Simple Online Pharmacy has integrated pharmacist expertise, community pharmacy insights, and innovative pouch robotic technology. It has received an “excellent” rating on Trustpilot. The company is the largest direct-to-consumer private provider of GLP-1 weight loss medication in the UK and has been instrumental in the recent launches of Wegovy and Mounjaro products. 

Based in Glasgow, the business has recently invested in cutting-edge robotics and AI pharmacy technology, the first of its kind in Scotland. With international expansion in its sights, it already has established operations in Australia and Germany and has recently launched in Denmark.
