BAILLIE GIFFORD PARTNERS WITH PAWPRINT TO REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT
Edinburgh-based investment partnership, Baillie Gifford, has partnered with Scottish eco-tech business, Pawprint, to help understand and reduce the carbon footprint of its employees.
Pawprint is one of a growing breed of businesses harnessing technology to solve some of the biggest issues of our time and was recently highlighted by the UK Government as a Climate Leader. Furthermore, the purpose driven business has been awarded B Corps certification in recognition of its commitment to sustainability, ethics and accountability.
Pawprint works by empowering employees to take control of their carbon footprints using a handy app, encouraging participation through eco-Sprints, teams and leaderboards. Meanwhile, businesses gain unique insights into their Scope 3 emissions, including commuting, business travel and home working.
Pawprint for Business is an employee engagement platform that combines the very latest in technology, carbon data and behavioural science to help businesses unite, engage and support their employees in tackling climate change.
Since being launched last year it is currently being used by 35 UK businesses and organisations including, Tesco Bank, Royal London, abrdn and CGI.
As a Pawprint Pioneer, Baillie Gifford will trial the Pawprint For Business app before rolling it out to 1,600 staff worldwide, giving them the tools to measure, understand and reduce their carbon footprints at home, at work and beyond.
Lynn Dewar (pictured above), Client Director at Baillie Gifford, commented: “As part of our journey to net zero we are doing what we can to lower our carbon footprint and live in a more sustainable way.
The fun and interactive app will empower colleagues to reduce their own emissions while helping to understand the impact our business has on the environment. The team at Pawprint is innovative and forward looking, and an ideal long-term partner for us.”
Christian Arno, founder and CEO of Pawprint said; “Baillie Gifford is known throughout the world for their investment nous, finding and backing transformational companies such as Tesla, Illumina and Spotify. Using Pawprint for Business to support employee’s climate action highlights that this is a firm with future-proofing our planet at its core.”
