The UK’s largest on-demand grocery service, Beelivery.com, is expanding its services to include pharmacy deliveries, positioning itself to offset the impact of a sharp rise in community pharmacy closures.

According to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHS BSA), England saw 248 pharmacy closures in 2024 alone, averaging almost five closures per week. By January 2025, the number of community pharmacies had fallen to 10,025, a net loss of 812 since early 2021.

Following a £1 million plus investment in 2021, Beelivery is stepping in to mitigate the impact of these closures through its nationwide delivery network of more than 25,000 registered independent drivers. The company now delivers pharmacy goods to 94% of UK households, providing both convenience and reliability.

Orders placed directly through Beelivery.com, where customers select a local or national pharmacy, dd items to their basket and check out. Once an order is confirmed, Beelivery’s platform assigns the nearest available driver to purchase and deliver items, typically within hours.
