The search is underway for the owner of a winning Lotto ticket purchased in Aberdeenshire worth an incredible £1M but yet to be claimed.
National Lottery players are being urged to check their tickets from the Lotto draw on Saturday 8 August bought from a retailer in Aberdeenshire that matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball in the second round to secure the seven-figure prize.
Whether you’re a local resident or were simply passing through the area when you bought your ticket, now is the time to take another look. The winner has until 4 February 2027 to come forward and claim their prize.¹
The mystery winner joins a growing list of newly-created Lotto millionaires as the game enters a new era of millionaire-making. The 8 August draw saw seven millionaires made in one night alone, including our mystery Aberdeenshire winner, as new Lotto is now making more millionaires than ever before. Five players won £1M each after matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball while two lucky players shared the £8.5M jackpot.

The ticket-holder has until 4 February 2027 to claim their prize. However, anyone not in possession of their ticket, for whatever reason, but who believes they have a genuine claim can still make a claim in
writing to Allwyn, but it must be within 30 days of the draw.2 Players can check the current list of unclaimed National Lottery prizes on the website here [1].
With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket. Anyone who has any queries or who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0333 234 5050 or email [email protected].
