TOP RATED HOLIDAY PARKS IN SCOTLAND
Holiday parks have been a staple in the UK for years. A great option for families who want a break but aren’t able to go abroad. Scotland has many locations that are ideal for a holiday park as they provide a welcome break from the noise of city life without having to travel too far.
The following entries were provided by the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2022.
BLAIRGOWRIE HOLIDAY LEISURE (BLAIRGOWRIE)
This five star holiday park is located in Perthshire, on the edge of Cairngorm National Park. It is a well established friendly park set in beautifully landscaped, terraced gardens on the edge of the town.
It offers deluxe self catering lodges with private hot tubs, luxury lodges sleeping up to 8 people and caravan holiday homes that can be booked weekly or for short breaks. Their touring area welcome motor homes and touring caravans on nightly or seasonal pitches with access to top quality touring facilities.
They won the award for Best Holiday Park at the 2022 Scottish Hospitality Awards.
CRAIG TARA HOLIDAY PARK (AYR)

RED DEER VILLAGE (GLASGOW)
This five star Glasgow camping and Caravan Park boasts immaculate self catering accommodation and spacious touring and camping pitches.
Red Deer Village Holiday Park is a five star holiday park, conveniently situated on the doorstep of Glasgow, just off the A80, one of Scotland’s main arterial routes to the North. The Park is close to a number of public transport links, with regular buses and trains into Glasgow city centre.
The level and spacious campsite is the ideal base for a holiday in and around West Central Scotland, or as a stopover for a few days whilst touring. There are 12 hardstanding pitches with electric hook up, and 14 hardstanding pitches with electric hook up suitable for touring caravans and motorhomes. Their grass area has a number of spacious tent pitches, which are well served by immaculate facilities.
They also have a wide selection of self-catering accommodation available, including chalets, static caravans and caravan holiday homes. Their accommodation has recently been refurbished to a high standard, making it a top choice for families, friends or contractors looking for somewhere to stay near Glasgow.

CAMPSIE GLEN WOOD LEISURE (FINTRY)
Located in a rural village setting close to Fintry, Campsie Glen is within easy reach of the historic town of Stirling, the bustling city of Glasgow and stunning Loch Lomond. A variety of distilleries, historic buildings and visitor centres are close by. For those looking to enjoy the outdoors, there is a number of local golf courses, cycle routes and fishing opportunities.

BLAIR CASTLE CARAVAN PARK (BLAIR ATHOLL)
Situated within the grounds of the Blair Castle & Gardens, this park is in a unique location steeped in history and charm. It offers several options from cosy pods, camping holiday homes and beautiful woodland lodges.
They have what they call The Larder which combines a selection of the finest produce from the region including ready meals made with locally sourced region or biscuits to go with your afternoon tea.
The Shieling is the in park catering providing visitors with everything visitors need for a delicious breakfast on the go. This includes fresh Scottish morning rolls with a variety of freshly cooked fillings to choose from which can be washed down with award winning Suki teas with dairy free milk.
It won Best Caravan Park at the 2022 Scottish Hospitality Awards and holds a four star rating from VisitScotland.
STRATHCLYDE COUNTRY CARAVAN PARK (GLASGOW)
Nestled on the edge of picturesque parkland, this campsite has several on site facilities include a woodland walk, play area for young children, as well as modern family washrooms and disabled facilities. There are also a handful of pitches suitable for larger outfits, which can be arranged through the site staff.
The country park is a ten minute walk from the site, with 1,000 acres of mature woodlands, wetlands, wildlife refuges and neat open parkland, set around Strathclyde Loch, offering unique bird and nature watching, miles of walking and cycle routes, as well as a whole range of watersports and golf.
There are also several sites of historic interest within the parkland, such as the Bothwellhaugh Roman fort and bath house, and the nearby M and D’s Theme Park is a great day out for kids. The shops and museums of Glasgow are within easy reach of the site and, further afield, Loch Lomond, Stirling and Edinburgh are within an hour’s drive, making this site an ideal base for exploring Southern Scotland.

SUNDRUM CASTLE HOLIDAY PARK (COYLTON)
The park is just 6 miles from the seaside town of Ayr and a visit to Ayr Beach is a must when it comes to days out in the local area. Those holidaying with kids can treat them to a visit to Heads of Ayr Farm Park or Jurassic Parr Adventure Golf, guaranteed to put a smile on their faces.
There is so much to do on park too, whether it’s taking a dip in the indoor pool, strolling around the wildlife nature trail or getting competitive in the arcade, there’s plenty of family fun come rain or shine.
Visitors will find a wide range of accommodation options at Sundrum Castle, from brand new caravans to touring and camping pitches there is the option to become a caravan owner and keep returning time and again.
Sundrum Castle’s heated indoor pool complex is perfect for family fun no matter what the weather, while the adventure playground and crazy golf course is perfect for enjoying an afternoon in the sunshine. TROSSACHS HOLIDAY PARK (STIRLING)

There is the option for visitors to purchase their very own Trossachs retreat allowing them to make themselves a home away from home.
They have camping pitches for all types of tents and all types of camper. Every pitch offers level ground and most pitches have electric hook up and a clean water tap. Clean shower and toilet areas with family shower rooms also available.
There is a central outdoor communal area with decking and picnic benches, a play park and games room, with pool table & football table, a launderette and washing up area. At the main reception visitors will find the on-site shop and the coffee shop with a selection of cakes available daily.

TUMMEL VALLEY HOLIDAY PARK (PITLOCHRY)
Located beside the River Tummel within a pretty woodland setting this park allows visitors to discover the great outdoors with fishing, cycle routes and Highland walking trails all close by.
For those looking for more indoor activities there is their heated indoor pool, arcade and crazy golf. Visitors can grab a bite in the newly refurbished Boathouse Bar and Restaurant.
