The concept of Glamping is one that has only become more and more popular over the last couple of years. Over 60% of people are choosing it over traditional camping as it allows them to have access to the same amenities and facilities they wouldn’t otherwise have when camping.
Many families with young children say that Glamping provides less hassle for them than traditional camping. There are many areas across Scotland that make perfect Glamping spots which would have looked very appealing over the last two years with more people having to choose the staycation.
Glenshee Glamping (Blairgrowe)
Glenshee Glamping is nestled amidst stunning mountain scenery in tranquil natural beauty allowing visitors to relax and unwind during in a peaceful 10 acre site. With plenty of space to roam, it is the perfect location for a family break or a secluded romantic getaway.
They have a range of places to stay, from Off Grid Shepherds Huts, Glamping Pods and even a fully restored 1940’s converted railway Goods Wagon. All of these options have lovely comfy double beds and have heating for those chilly Scottish evenings.
Many of the pods can sleep between 2 and 6 people depending on the visitors needs. There is the large pitch tent which can sleep up to 8 people with washing up and freezer facilities.
While Glamping accommodation provides the ideal space to get back to nature and have an outdoor camping experience without the hassle of pitching a tent, visitors are still welcome to bring their own tent if they wish.
EDEN LEISURE VILLAGE (CUMBERNAULD)
Eden began as a pocket of land nestled in the Millcroft Wood of Cumbernauld, overlooking the Summerhill fields. Eden’s founder Des had a vision to transform this area into a luxury Glamping experience to allow visitors to come, unwind & enjoy the restful countryside; whilst only being 20 minutes from the hustle & bustle of Glasgow City Centre.
Meeting the demand of a new & relaxed feel to weddings, the site has now also developed into a rustic wedding venue. Des along with his wife Janet and their team are passionate about giving every couple a unique & personal experience. They aim to provide the perfect ‘wedding in the woods’ for a couple to begin a happy life-long marriage together.

LOCH TAY HIGHLAND LODGES (ABERFELDY)
Based in Perthshire this site provides everything from Camping Pods and Geodesic domes to ‘bunkhouse’ style accommodation, it gives visitors the luxuries of home while enjoying a relaxing holiday nestled in the Scottish Highlands. Despite being surrounded by mountains, lochs, rivers, it is still within easy driving distance of Edinburgh, Stirling, and Glasgow.
Some of the Glamping units include services like the Premium Pods and Hideout’s, which feature a small bathroom and a kitchenette. They feature extra amenities and facilities such as their camper’s kitchen and lounge, and our shower and toilet block. A drying room and laundry area is also provided in order to ensure you have everything you need for a wonderful stay.

INVERNESS GLAMPING (INVERNESS)
Run by the Hume family this site provides modern Glamping Pods which sleep two adults and two children with 1 double bed and bunk beds included.. Each has a shower and WC and your own decking area with outdoor furniture and barbecue.
Visitors can enjoy views over to the Black Isle) and to the mountains in the west. They also have access to the ‘Bothy’ which is a communal area where they will find an eating area, a fridge, microwave and dishwashing facilities.
Inverness Glamping is perfectly situated for access to a range of attractions nearby and easy access to main travel routes should you fancy exploring further afield. Within a 5 minute drive there is Culloden Battlefield – the site of the brutal battle in 1746.. Visitors can dolphin spot on the Black Isle either by boat from Inverness or by the 30 minute drive to Chanonry Point.
ARNS GLAMPING POD (STIRLING)
The Arns Glamping Pods is a new and unique opportunity to stay on a sustainable living small holding in Bridge of Allan surrounded by livestock and wildlife. This is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of walking, cycling, running, golfing or travelling. The pods are available for a minimum of a two night stay.
There are four Glamping pods at The Arns, each pod sleeps two adults, two children, and two well behaved dogs (on request). The pod has its own shower room (with a shower cubical, toilet & sink), kitchen facility, fixed bed and sofa bed for the kids.
Only sheets and pillows are provided as guests bring duvet and towels. Each pod will have one allocated parking bay. Guests will have the chance to see a variety of beautiful Scottish Wildlife such as birds of prey, common garden birds, deer and bats to name just a few.
SPOKE ‘N’ BOOT (FALKIRK)
Opening in July of 2016 on the site of a working farm owners Stewart and Sandra Morrison have welcomed visitors from far and wide.They provide a safe and secluded environment, quality accommodation and value for money. We welcome solo travellers, couples, families and small groups travelling together, well-behaved dogs too.
There are four wooden camping pods here at Spoke ‘n’ Boot. They are located in a small field next to the main farmhouse. The pods are in peaceful surroundings with stunning panoramic views of the Forth Valley, the Ochil Hills and Fife.
Each pod is double-glazed and insulated although not heated. They each sleep two adults and contain two camp beds, lamps (the pods don’t have electricity) and a bedside cabinet/table.
RUBERSLAW WILD WOODS CAMPING (HAWICK)
This family run campsite is based in our Edwardian walled garden, complete with traditional glasshouse. Their Woodland Safari Tents allows guest to relax under canvas and be surrounded by hundreds of woodland on the slopes of Ruberslaw.
Internally the tents are divided by wooden wall partitions into a double bedroom with king sized bed, a bunk bedroom and living/kitchen and dining room. There sites are sensitive and offer a good chance of seeing wildlife.
The site can also be booked out for weddings in their beautiful garden with spacious lawns, terraces and fruit trees providing a sense of peace and seclusion. There is also a large gathering area in the hub centred on a huge open fireplace providing an eating area and a spot perfect for a ceilidh.
GREAT GLEN BED & BREAKFAST (DRUMNADROCHIT)
Set on a 10 acre site of an award winning dog friendly B&B next to Loch Ness there are several Glamping pod options at budget prices. There are six Eco Pods each sleeping two people in either double or twin beds.
These pods have n en suite fridge, tea making facilities and under floor heating for those particularly chilly nights. Each pod is also given a barbeque area and fire pit.
BRAEHEAD GLAMPING & CAMPING (FOCHABERS)
This family-owned business is run by Raymond and Liz McIntosh who make sure that guests are guaranteed a warm welcome from them and their team. Set near to the River Spey guests can enjoy the beautiful views over the surrounding countryside in a wide range of accommodation options from tent pitches to Glamping Pods, a Chalet/Snug, and a Yurt.
There are several Glamping Pods available suited for all needs from ones with single rates to ones that sleep up to four people. Moray is Malt Whisky Country and so each of their Pods is named after a locally produced whisky. Each has its own picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and outdoor racks for wellies after those lovely country walks.
There is a great play area for children, a communal kitchen and dining room along with toilet and shower facilities.
DRUMMOHR CAMPING & GLAMPING (MUSSELBURGH)
