Thousands queue outside the Westminster Hall to file past the Queen’s coffin

Her Majesty The Queen’s coffin left Buckingham Palace for the last time on Wednesday, 14 September and is now open for to the public to pay their last respects at the Westminster Hall.
The Queen’s lying in state will continue for the next four days with tens of thousands of people reported to have queued to file past the late monarch’s coffin.
The coffin is currently resting on a raised catafalque and is draped in the Royal Standard with the orb and sceptre placed on top.
Members of the public are allowed to visit the coffin 24 hours a day until 6.30am on the day of the Queen’s state funeral, Monday, 19 September.
The coffin will be guarded strictly around the clock by units from the Sovereign’s Bodyguard, the Household Division or Yeoman Warders of the Tower of London.
According to the government tracker, this morning at 10.30 am the queue to enter Westminster Hall was around 3.1 miles long.
