TECH FIRM LOOKING FOR A BUYER FOR ITS UK HEADQUARTERS

A buyer is still being sought for the UK headquarters of Siemens a year after it first hit the market.
The sale of Sir William Siemens House in Princess Road, West Didsbury, was launched in May last year by CBRE with a price tag of almost £9m.
At the time, Siemens said it was planning to remain at the building for “an initial” three years.
However, after a year on the market, no sale has yet been completed. An initial deadline for offers had originally been set at Monday, June 20, 2022.
In a statement, the company said: “Siemens continues to look for a buyer for the West Didsbury site”.
When the sale launched last year, offers of £8.85m were sought for the property which was opened in 1990 as the company’s flagship office in the UK. The office was designated the HQ for operations in Siemens GB&I in 2019.
In a statement released last May, Siemens said: “Siemens plc has decided to put its Sir William Siemens House location in West Didsbury up for sale with a plan to lease the building back for an initial three years.
The building will be put on the market and subject to offers received, we expect a decision will be reached on the sale by autumn 2022. Responsibility for running and maintaining the Siemens HQ will remain with Siemens plc throughout the leaseback agreement.”
