POUNDLAND PUTS SCOTTISH STORES INTO HIBERNATION
Eight Scottish stores are among the 44 earmarked for temporary closure by Poundland. The budget retailer will put them into hibernation starting tomorrow.
The move comes after an 80% fall in footfall since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The company confirmed that staff affected by the closures will be place on furlough.
The Scottish sites affected:
Ayr, High Street.
Dumfries, Loreburne Centre.
Glasgow, Union Street.
Falkirk, Howgate.
Edinburgh, Princes Street.
Perth, St Johns Centre.
Inverness, High Street.
Kirkcaldy, Mercat Shopping Centre.
