Major BTR opportunity has been launched in Cardiff

The Residential Investment and Cardiff Land teams of Knight Frank have launched a £100 million build to rent opportunity in Cardiff city centre.

Acting on behalf of Rightacres Property Co, this 0.52-acre site, designated ‘Plot 5’, represents the last undeveloped parcel of land within Cardiff’s Central Square regeneration project. This £450 million ten-year masterplan brought forward has already delivered 1.4m sq. ft of prime mixed-use accommodation.

Plot 5 has planning permission for a 35-storey mixed-use BTR tower including 364 residential units, arranged as 148 studios, 88 one-bed, 125 two-bed, and 3 three-bed units, as well as ground and mezzanine level commercial accommodation.

Central Square comprises a 12-acre mixed use development anchored by major occupiers including the BBC, HMRC and Cardiff University.

Claire Fisher, associate in the residential investment team at Knight Frank, said: “The site is an integral part of the broader Central Square regeneration. It is the final piece of the masterplan which, once built, will sit amongst over 1 million sq ft of prime office, retail, leisure and residential space.

This is a prime opportunity to acquire a major city centre development site, which benefits from a market-leading provision of resident amenity accommodation. As a result we expect to receive strong interest from the market.”
