LOCAL HAIR EDUCATOR NOMINATED FOR PRESTIGIOUS HAIRDRESSING AWARD
Laura Leigh Kerr (pictured above) Director of the Rainbow Room Academy in Glasgow has been shortlisted for the prestigious Educator of the Year title at Hairdressers Journal’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2022.
The awards – now in their 24th year – recognise the hardworking names that have built outstanding salon businesses, helping to make British hairdressing the most respected in the world. From standout salons and exemplary teamwork to groundbreaking innovations and trailblazing individuals, Hairdressers Journal’s British Hairdressing Business Awards are an annual celebration of business brilliance.
Laura made the final stage of the competition after compiling a detailed entry outlining their approach to hairdressing training and the impact it has had on the industry before being announced as one of seven finalists in the Educator of the Year category.
Winners will be announced at Hairdressers Journal British Hairdressing Business Awards on Monday 4th July at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, to an audience of some of the industry’s most prolific names.
Laura Leigh Kerr said: “I am thrilled to have made the finals of such a respected event. I am so passionate about hairdressing and there’s really nothing better than helping others to grow, learn and realise their dream too. Whilst we are thrilled to be recognised for our education programme, this award is a complete team effort – it is our students’ hunger to learn that keeps us striving to be the best we can.”
Jayne Lewis-Orr, Executive Director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards commented, “These awards are recognition of the standout people and businesses in the hairdressing industry, celebrating their talent, passion and commitment to making British hairdressing so revered.
To make the Educator of the Year shortlist, nominees need to demonstrate excellence in all areas of hairdressing training, from their training philosophy and structure to how their programme is implemented and evaluated. Laura should feel proud to be recognised for their ongoing commitment to technical and creative training.”
