Independent Business wins Big at Craft Awards
EAST Linton-based business The Crafty Kit Company has won four awards in the Craft Business Awards.
This includes Best Sustainable Craft Company, Best Support & Service, Best Stitching Brand and Best Trade Website.
This marks the second year in a row that the firm has been voted Best Sustainable Craft Company in this prestigious nationwide competition.
Founded in 2012, The Crafty Kit Company creates needle felting, sewing, and felt craft kits, and its products are stocked by independent and national retailers as well as increasing numbers of retailers in North America, Europe, and Australia.
It has enjoyed a surge of interest in its products since 2020, with many turning to crafting for relaxation, stress relief, and to learn new skills.
Crafty Kit founder Jo Lochhead (pictured above) said: “As a business we are always looking for ways to make our products, supply chains, and packaging as sustainable as possible. “
“We’re very proud to make all of our craft kits here in Scotland, and have also taken steps to reduce the plastic content of our products, replacing plastic components with more sustainable alternatives wherever possible.
“We see sustainability as an ongoing journey for The Crafty Kit Company, and were absolutely thrilled to be voted Best Sustainable Craft Company again this year.”
