Global firm supports young professionals network ahead of new office launch
Global design and engineering consultancy firm, Arup, has committed its support to Future Faces ahead of its move into Birmingham city centre this November.
Arup are sponsors of the Training & Education category at this year’s Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year awards, as well as committed 12 memberships to the Future Faces young professionals’ network.
Arup is making a sizeable investment funding training and qualifications for its employees. In addition to this, all members of the organisation have access to Arup University, the firm’s knowledge, and research hub. The firm’s commitment to growth and skills development earned it a Glassdoor’s Employees choice award as the eighth best place to work in the UK.
The firm is reaffirming its commitment to the attraction and growth of emerging talent in Greater Birmingham ahead of its move to One Centenary Way in Birmingham city centre.
Recognising the importance of the Chamber’s emerging talent division, Arup has selected 12 of its early careers employees to join the Future Faces network from across its Birmingham and Solihull cohort.
New professionals joining the group include Selin Shefik, Elliott Webb, Morgan Boswell, Matthew Gray, Rachel Bayliss, Sophie Corr, Georgia Collins, Emeka Obikoru, Kimberley Jassal, Santina Ajdari Bunting, Columba Foster and Dan Davies.

Arup’s new office at One Centenary Way was chosen by the firm for its central location and proximity to transport links, and for the opportunity for the firm to influence the design of the base building, including the switch to all electric power and the use of net-zero and low carbon materials to reduce lifetime carbon emissions.
The workspace features state-of-the-art smart technology and a variety of flexible co-working and meeting spaces designed to grow the firm’s skills and services. Among these features is a ground floor gallery which will be used to engage communities, third sector and the education sector.
