Employee Owned Firm on Hunt for New MD
The co founder of the North Berwick firm campervans has announced plans to move into the role of chairman as the company looks for a new managing director.
Simon Poole (pictured above) founded the business with his wife in 2006 turning his passion for building VW Transporter conversions into a successful business.
In 2018 the company became employee owned in 2018 with the team of 14 benefiting from an equal profit share regardless of their position.
Simon was recently recognised for his work winning Director of the Year for Small-Medium Businesses and the Edinburgh and the Lothians regional award at the Director of the Year Awards at last month’s IoD awards.
Now he is looking to step back from the day to day running of the company.
On his time in the role Simon said: “Running this business has been one of the greatest thrills of my life.
“Now, almost 17 years later, this passion of ours has really flourished into a trusted and recognised business.
“It has been fantastic to see the company grow so successfully and this success is down to the remarkable team we have behind us who strive for excellent craftsmanship and customer experience.”
Regarding who will step into the role Simon added: “We have a number of exciting plans in the pipeline for 2022 and we need an MD who will bring a fresh, diversified approach to the role.
“The candidate must buy into our commitment to the employee ownership model, but develop new strategies to build on the company’s success and open up new opportunities and market areas.”
