Edinburgh Reigns Supreme: Scotland’s Premier City for Businesses
Posted On November , 2023
The team at Flexioffices used six metrics to determine which cities and towns in the UK balance the cost of office space for the employer and the potential workforce.
Edinburgh was determined to be the best city in Scotland for businesses and sixth overall in the UK. Aberdeen was 8th and Glasgow was 19th overall.
These game changing stats are based on commute times, public transport links, quantity of workstations, cost per workstation, the talent pool available for the employer, and how productive a city is. The data is sourced from Flexioffice’s own insight and statistics from Gov.UK.
The results were placed into a table showing the number of points given to each city and town based on how it ranked out of the original 40 cities and towns across the UK. The fewer points received, the higher the city or town ranked and the better it is overall.
Edinburgh scored 31 points for Commute Times, 6 for quantity of public transport, 7 for talent pool, 6 for cost of workspace, 3 for Flexioffice’s availability and 10 for productivity. This equates to a final score of 67 points.
Above Edinburgh in the overall table are Southampton, Warrington, Blackpool, Portsmouth and Manchester taking the top spot.
Michael Dubicki, MD of Flexioffices says: “When considering the future success of your business, never underestimate the profound impact of choosing the right office location. It’s not just about bricks and mortar; it’s about cultivating a workplace that inspires your team and fosters productivity.”
