Posted On November , 2023
Over 400 delegates, including East London business owners, senior decision-makers, partners of London City Airport, key regional stakeholders, and procurement teams of over 25 major buyers, will come together to deliver lucrative contracts with suppliers based in the region.
The Summit, taking place at the prestigious London Stadium on 30 November 2023, will feature keynote speakers from the Bank of England and Institute of Sales.
Professionals, along with a dedicated Meet the Buyer event. While the Summit is geared towards business generation and providing opportunities for businesses to scale up and mingle with some of the region’s leading entrepreneurial minds, Meet the Buyer will matchmake suppliers and buyers in a tried and tested format that facilitated over £5m worth of contracts being placed with local SME businesses at last year’s event alone.
Buyers confirmed so far include Barking & Dagenham Council, Canary Wharf Group, City of London of Corporation, Elkins Construction, Higgins Partnerships, Jerram Falkus, Rooff, Tate & Lyle Sugars and Tower Hamlets Council.
The Summit and Meet the Buyer events have been made possible by London City Airport, with the support of UMi.
Nicki Clark OBE, UMi Chief Executive, said: “It’s great to be working once again with London City Airport and partners to give local SMEs the opportunity to connect directly with major buyers. At such a challenging time for businesses of all kinds, it has never been more important to understand local tender opportunities available and the steps business leaders can take to win new work.”
For suppliers or SME businesses based in East London, Meet the Buyers is an opportunity to have multiple one-to-one meetings with local suppliers to gain access to supply chain decision makers.
For buyers, or procurement teams typically from the public sector and construction sector, the event is an opportunity to source innovative and competitive SME suppliers in East London, supporting their supply chain sustainability targets.
