DM Hall joins Scottish Agritourism to support growth and diversification across Scotland’s rural economy

DM Hall, one of Scotland’s leadings firms of independent chartered surveyors, has joined Scottish Agritourism as a trade member, strengthening its commitment to supporting the growth and diversification of rural businesses across Scotland.
The move follows DM Hall’s participation in last year’s Scottish Agritourism Conference, where the firm connected with agritourism operators from across the country and witnessed first-hand the scale and ambition of the sector.
Jennifer Campbell of DM Hall’s Rural department, said: “We are thrilled to become a member of Scottish Agritourism. Having exhibited at last year’s conference, it was clear to us just how ambitious, innovative and forward-thinking agritourism businesses are across Scotland.
DM Hall has long supported farm and estate diversification, but joining the network allows us to deepen that support and build meaningful relationships across the sector.
With Scottish Agritourism’s recent announcement of backing from Virgin Money, there is huge momentum building. We’re excited to play our part in helping rural businesses unlock new opportunities, strengthen their resilience, and realise their diversification potential.”
Laura Paterson, Manager at Scottish Agritourism, welcomed the announcement, saying: “I am delighted to welcome DM Hall to the Scottish Agritourism network. As a not-for-profit organisation, we work closely with our members to grow and strengthen Scotland’s agritourism sector, and the support of experienced professional partners like DM Hall is invaluable.
DM Hall brings a depth of rural expertise, from valuation to development to estate management, that will directly benefit our members. We look forward to helping raise its profile across the network and seeing its team become an active part of our supportive community of rural businesses.”
Scottish Agritourism plays a critical role in representing the sector nationally and internationally, providing members with lobbying support, business development resources, peer networks, regional engagement, events, and collaborating with national and regional agencies on sector marketing opportunities.
The most recent agritourism sector census highlighted the scale of opportunity ahead, with participating businesses planning £200 million of investment over the next two years – a sign of growing confidence and long-term ambition within Scotland’s rural economy.
DM Hall’s membership will enhance the professional support available to agritourism and farm retail businesses at a time when strategic planning, development knowledge, and investment readiness have never been more important.
Both organisations share a commitment to helping rural enterprises diversify sustainably, strengthen their financial resilience and create thriving, future-focused businesses rooted in Scotland’s landscapes and communities.
