Fife-based specialist flooring contractor Advanced Traditional Screeding (ATS) has joined forces with the Dunfermline Foodbank to help fight poverty and hunger in the region.
Part of a nationwide network of foodbanks supported by the Trussell Trust, the charity provides three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people in crisis.
ATS, whose headquarters are in Rosyth, will be making monthly donations of £500 to the foodbank as part of the company’s ongoing charity commitment.
Jason Lister, ATS managing director said: “Partnerships like this are a very important part of who we are. We firmly believe that everyone should have access to the necessities of life and we are committed to making a difference through several initiatives in our community.
We often sit as a team and discuss how we can collectively help various charities and initiatives. 2023 sees a host of events and challenges being undertaken by ATS staff, from simple 5km runs to marathons.”
He added: “Caring for our staff, customers, suppliers and community is one of five core values we have agreed on as a group. With our monthly donation, we are helping to provide vital assistance to those in need in our local area.
The work the Dunfermline Foodbank does is incredible and we would urge other businesses in the area which are not already doing so to consider getting involved as it is a vital bridge and resource locally.
They are true local heroes and we hope this is the start of a long relationship.”
The Dunfermline Foodbank has five centres across Fife, covering 125 square miles, and project manager Sandra Beveridge said: “We are delighted to be receiving £500 per month from ATS and so very grateful.
This will go a long way in ensuring stock levels are up to maximum and will help with our future planning. So many people in the south-west Fife area will benefit from this. It is honestly such an amazing gesture, we can’t thank ATS enough.”
