Ad Signal named among industry leaders in Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards

Ad Signal, a specialist provider of video content management solutions, has been shortlisted for a Broadcast Tech Innovation Award after being recognised as a game changer for the digital content industry.
Each year, the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards celebrates the role technology plays in creating and broadcasting the most outstanding productions of the past year.
Shortlisted for the Standout Tech of the Year (post-production) Award, Ad Signal’s innovative product Match has been put forward after being acknowledged to reduce a company’s costs and carbon footprint by deduplicating assets and providing optimisation for AI video workflows.
Other nominees for the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards include household names such as BBC Verify, ITV Studios, and Warner Bros. Discovery for their input on various projects.
As well as saving company’s costs, Ad Signal is saving the planet with a commitment to sustainability, reminding the industry regularly that 2.3% of global carbon dioxide emissions are estimated to be generated by data centres and network traffic, and of that traffic, 70% is estimated to be video.
This output makes network traffic responsible for roughly the same amount of carbon dioxide emissions as the global aviation industry.
Tom Dunning (pictured above), CEO of Ad Signal, said: “It’s been an incredible journey so far and we are elated to have been recognised by such an award. Ad Signal ready to continue delivering sustainable growth as our business reaches the next level.
As volumes of video content increases, it appears that many broadcasters are ill-equipped to manage these materials effectively. How to combat this, and optimisation should come to the top of mind for all organisations, improving their operations all while limiting their carbon impact.”
The news comes ahead of the launch of Compose early next year, a product capable of reducing the cost and carbon of archive content storage or CDN by up to 75%. Working hand-in-hand with Match, Compose will produce IMF video formats from traditional versions to deliver cost and carbon savings.
