SCOTTISH RENEWABLE ENERGY FIRM PURCHASED BY ENGLISH RIVAL

Cheshire-based sustainable solutions provider RSK Group has acquired Loch Lomond-based
renewable energy business Absolute Solar and Wind.
The deal – for an undisclosed sum – continued RSK’s “strategic expansion”, with Absolute
adding expertise in renewable energy design, installation and maintenance services for
commercial and industrial renewable energy projects, primarily in the solar sector.
It will join RSK’s agriculture, land and property management division, under the direction of
Ian Strudwick, but will continue to be led by Absolute director Tom Newall.
Newall commented: “Joining RSK will enable Absolute to take its growth in the renewable
energy sector to the next stage – becoming part of a bigger organisation will present many
opportunities for the business and for our employees in terms of growth and development.
I am confident that together we can really make a difference for the environment and for
our clients.”
Established in 2007, the Scottish company’s customers include Scottish Water, Edinburgh
Airport, UK Research and Innovation and several local authorities. It also designs, supplies,
installations and maintenance of commercial photovoltaic solar panel systems, solar farms
and wind turbines.
