EDINBURGH MAN WINS £11,000 MOTORBIKE IN ONLINE COMPETITION
An Edinburgh construction worker had the surprise of a lifetime after winning a motorbike worth a cool five figures in luxury lifestyle competition BOTB.
Peter Mitchell (pictured right above) won a Ducati Motorbike worth more than £11,000 in the weekly online competition after paying just 70p for his ticket.
The construction worker was overseas in the Caribbean island of Barbuda for work when he got a video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams (above left) who let him know the good news.
“That’s amazing,” he said. “I can’t wait!
“I only passed my test a few months ago and I’ve not got a bike yet so this is great timing,” he explained.
“I played for the bike mainly because of its look but also because it’s similar to the one I trained on.”
The Ducati Hypermotard 950 that Peter scooped in the competition has 114bhp and can reach a top speed of 130 mph.
Since being founded in 1999 by William Hindmarch, BOTB has given away more than £44m worth of cars.
The company, listed on the stock market, hands over the keys to two stunning cars each week as well as a ‘lifestyle’ prize. Recent winners have bagged a quad bike, a holiday to the Arctic and £15,000 in cash.
BOTB’s Christian Williams said: “What a fabulous prize Peter played for – and what perfect timing too just months after passing his test!
“It’s a really cool prize and I’m super happy for him. Massive congratulations again!”
