Investigo recruits 180 qualified accountants into blue-chip financial institutions to bridge the talent gap

Investigo, the specialist permanent and interim recruitment firm, has recruited 180 qualified accountants into blue-chip institutions including Sainsbury’s and BT, helping to plug the talent gap across the industry.
Within the 180 new recruits, Investigo placed 66 newly qualified accountants to meet industry demand and fill vacancies caused by stunted hiring during Covid. With a turbulent economy and hiring freezes, many accountancy and finance departments have been left with experience gaps at the AVP level, seeking staff with three to five years of industry experience.
Alongside supporting blue chip firms, Investigo has placed a significant proportion of staff with high growth, private equity-backed organisations, helping to build specialist teams under the Chief Financial Officer.
Andy Young, Director of Accountancy & Finance at Investigo, commented: “There has been a rollercoaster of recruitment trends since Covid, and instability paired with cost pressures have resulted in many accountancy and finance departments cutting back their talent acquisition functions.
This has resulted in a talent gap across accountancy and finance, especially for newly qualified accountants, and businesses are now on the hunt for skilled permanent and interim staff with specialised skill sets.”
He added: “Our team of experts across the Accountancy & Finance division have been pivotal in plugging gaps across accountancy and finance departments, combining deep industry expertise with exceptional knowledge of people and culture, placing high-quality candidates in the perfect roles for them, and their new company.
Unlocking the power of people within key accountancy roles will play a major role in future business growth.”
Investigo’s Accountancy and Finance department is led by industry veteran Andy Young who has over 20 years of experience in the sector. The team has also recently hired James Berry and Emma Ridley as Senior Consultants to further support the specific requirements of accountancy and finance teams.
Having experienced 20% growth in recent years, Investigo’s Accountancy & Finance Department has ambitious plans to grow by 30% over the next year, expanding interim and project staff recruitment across private equity-backed organisations and financial transformation across Europe.
